It has just recently come to my attention (through Chag at Cynical Dad) that today is National Delurker Day. Someone even created a special, though slightly twisted, little badge for the occasion. And while I'd really rather not see your privates, spectacular as they are, I'd love it if you'd come out of hiding and leave a comment. It could be anything. Say hello, tell me who you like in this weekend's playoff games, or what good books/CD's/DVD's you've read/listened to/watched lately (I'm always looking for good suggestions). Give me investment advice, reviews of your new techo gadgets that you got for Christmas, your most embarrassing moments. Anything. Please?
I'm not coming off as too desperate, am I?

Alrighty Derek, I've "delurked" before, but here's another one. My lovely daughter who has always been my pink everywhere girl (think pink walls, curtains, bedspread, sheets, clothes, shoes, hair accessories, etc) came home from shopping with Grandma carrying a black, mid-calf length black-on-black "little black dress." I'm not sure exactly what happened, when or where. Apparently all the dresses she wanted to try on were leaning toward the Jr/Misses styles instead of her normal fantasy princess styles. So, now we're trading My Little Ponies and Barbie for drum lessons and a skateboard; billowy pastel dresses bedecked with ribbon and lace for sleek black dresses and who knows what is yet to come! She's growing up and I don't know if I'm happy or scared, probably a little bit of both.
Whoo-hoo!
Thanks for re-delurking. I wish I had a prize for you or something, like a Guitar Center gift card or coupons to Limited Too, you know, to support your daughter's new rocker image, but I don't. Sorry. I'll just be happy/scared with you.
I'll delurk myself. I'm pretty sure you know who I am and where to find me. I hope the others delurk themselves too.
Hmmm...a mysterious stranger. Very intriguing. I sure hope my wife doesn't read this...
I just bought tickets to the upcoming Hannah Montana 3D concert movie. Life in the fast lane!
Whoa, whoa, whoa...slow down now! Actually, I'll probably be joining you in the fast lane. The Jonas Brothers are coming to town and tickets go on sale Saturday. Yeah baby!
I enjoy your commentary, we're in similar life stations (though you have a few years on me, old man :) and most of your blurbs are relevant enough to amuse or intrigue me.
I'm 33, 2 kids (girl of 5, boy of 2), and Zune owner, which is how I found you, funnily enough. I enjoyed your commentary on your new Zune - which you haven't mentioned in ages, still use it? I love mine. I then browsed around your blog at random after that and enjoyed your stories.
I come by every few weeks now to see if anything funny or interesting has happened. Your girls amuse me, I haven't been able to have bathroom time by myself for 4 years so I sympathize.... they just know. Even at 1am, that's when she's gonna stagger in needing to go! But she doesn't laugh at my manhood at least.
Consider me de-lurked :)
Cool! Thanks for delurking, Greg. Oh, and not to be the bearer of bad news, but those six years between 33 and 39 go by like a flash. And it's just a matter of time before your manhood draws snickers from your daughter.
I've been meaning to post a new Zune blog since November because I haven't been able to upgrade to the new software. I keep getting a weird error message and I haven't had the time to call customer support. I do love my Zune. My computer, on the other hand...
Thanks for reading. My wish for you in 2008 is quality, uninterrupted bathroom time. Like my dear ol' dad tells me, "Spit in one hand and wish in the other, see which one fills up quicker." Oh well. It's the thought that counts.
